Get a quoteI think a test for relief pressure can be taken without hooking a t-fitting into the high-pressure line ahead of the valve. I think that just connecting a gauge with a quick connect fitting into one of the cylinder line ports and then operating the valve just long enough to take a reading should work and would be easier.

Each valve just teed off from a pressure line and fed back to the other side of the valve body. They were fairly easy to open up, and consisted of little more than a spring-loaded cone point in a seat.

Get a quoteMar 31, 2018 · The system as described above has two relief valves. The first one is in the FEL valve. The second is in the rear of the tractor near the rear remotes. When the pressure test at the rear remotes if good, you already know the relief valve in the FEL is good otherwise it would bleed off pressure heading to the rear remotes.
Get a quoteSounds like you may have a problem with the pressure relief valve. If it goes bad, something as simple as a broken spring will do it, the fluid just gets dumped out of the pump straight back into the reservoir. You need to put a gauge, one with a maximum of 3,000psi rating, on the system and see what if any pressure you're getting. Best of luck

Some tractors with power steering have a priority flow control valve which takes fluid from the main hydraulic pump and sends enough to the power steering to satisfy it first.
