Bakery Shop UCHIKI

Turning to the left on Motomachi Plaza, you’ll see the bakery known was, “Uchikipan” ,Japan’s oldest bakery still in existence. The bakery was established in 1888. On weekends, it gets crowded with tourists and local people who want to buy fresh baked bread. The most famous bread is called “England” (360yen), a white bread made pretty much the same way as when the bakery started. It has a faint aroma of hops and a firm texture. Another recommended bread is “Ichijiku-cream” (190yen), a bread stuffed with a mixture of fig jam and custard. The combination is excellent!!
