Yamate Catholic Church

Yamate Catholic Church Built in 1906, Yamate Catholic Church is constructed of brick and includes two bell towers. It collapsed in the Great Kanto Earthquake in 1923 and was rebuilt in 1933.Although it appears to be a typical Gothic-style church from the outside, the interior is quite breathtaking. Of particular note is the spectacular work on the colonnades and the stained glass Yamate Catholic Church is said to be the most beautiful church in Japan.
