Eglise du Sacre-Coere (Church of the Sacred Heart)

This site was once the location of the first Christian church built in Japan.In 1862, after the reopening of the country, a dedication ceremony was held for the first Catholic Church to be built in Japan. The church was the Eglise du Sacre-Coeur, and it was built here; at number 80 in the Yokohama foreign residential area.
