The first international friendship baseball games in Japan were played at Yokohama Stadium in 1896. In more recent years, the tulips blossoming in spring have become a popular attraction.The multipurpose stadium, which can seat 30,000 people, was opened in April 1978 and was the location of the first professional night game in Japan. It is widely used not only for baseball games but also for concerts and other events as well, and is the home stadium of the Yokohama DeNA?BayStars?baseball team.
