Yokohama Foreign General Cemetery

Buried here are about 4900 people from about 40 different countries, including those who contributed to the development of Yokohama from the time the port opened to the world in the 19th century. In the Cemetery Museum, there are exhibits of documents explaining the achievements of those interred at the site. The cemetery is private, except for every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from April to October, when the museum is open to the public to raise funds for the upkeep of the grounds.
